Category Archives: Village of the Damned

Something is terribly wrong with the Education ‘Village‘ of America – the complete breakdown of America’s government controlled education system through indoctrination and Socialism. Our children have become truly ‘damned‘ and will have little chance to truly succeed in this nation – UNLESS – the system can be overturned. Sorry Hillary, but the Village thing hasn’t worked so well – for the children of America. Welcome to the ‘Village‘ – where first we learn, and then we teach!

This category was so-named because of then First Lady, Hillary Clinton’s comment, “It takes a village to raise a child.” In addition to my feelings that our children are truly ‘damned‘ as long as this system is allowed to continue.

The ‘Village‘ is the place that I would not wish to be in today. I was privileged to participate in one of the last non-socialist school systems. Hell – I don’t know – maybe it had already begun, but I had great teachers. At 71 years of age – I can still picture and name over 90% of those whose care I was placed into. What we present here includes a range of commentary by a wide range of authors, which may well not fit into other designated categories. So here we provide, well – you know – “a little of this and a little of that!“

As the esteemed Dr. Rosemary Stein, M.D. has stated; The only way socialism has any chance in America is for the education system to push it in schools. Remember, the father of their modern education ‘Elite’ beliefs is John Dewey. Dewey was a communist, failed teacher who pushed what are now clearly failed education theories. Here is the quote of the day. “This militant crowd is comprised of uninformed and misinformed people looking at themselves as unfortunate, underpaid, underappreciated victims of capitalism, overwhelmed with jealousy that there are people who are everything they are not.”You are going to have to take ownership over the education of your children ~ Rosemary Stein, MD

In the words of Jaime Escalalante ~ “I tell my students, you do not enter the future – you create the future. The future is achieved through hard work.”

Let us guide our children towards creation – of the future. The time is past due for we the people to take back the responsibility of who raises and who teaches OUR children.. and with YOUR help, and the words of our contributors, we will do our best to bring your children to the world which they deserve to live in. ~ Jeffrey Bennett, Kettle Moraine Publications

Schools: A Beacon of Hate

One of the basic conditions for the victory of socialism is the arming of the workers and the disarming of the bourgeoisie (the middle class). A system of licensing and registration is the perfect device to deny gun ownership to the bourgeoisie. ~ Vladimir Ilyich Lenin

Let me first say that my prayers and thoughts for healing are sent to all families who have lost family members due to a horrific killing. Losing a family member unexpectedly is something we should never have to experience. It is a sad time in America.

Hate speech, racism, anger, are all emotional traits that must be learned. Yes that is right, Hate is an emotion that must be LEARNED. You have to be taught to hate. Did you ever meet a baby right out of the womb who said I am a racist? Were their first words, “I hate Jews, Christians, Blacks, Muslims, conservatives, environmentalists, etc.” I don’t think so. Why is picking up a gun or knife and killing people done by some almost without thought? Because somewhere in their lives, they were taught to hate. Now they are acting out what they have been taught. Mental illness for the most part has nothing to do with their actions. It is their programming. The biggest question is where is the programming coming from? Continue reading

Biology is not bigotry’: Teacher blasts bill that would force teachers to receive LGBT ‘training’

Sacremento, California ~ An elementary school teacher packed a powerful punch in a two-minute testimony last month against a proposed law that would require teachers to affirm homosexual, lesbian, and transgender students.

Her testimony occurred during a July 10 California Senate Education Committee hearing regarding AB 493, a measure known as “Teachers: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning pupil resources and training.”

Speaking before the panel of liberal California politicians, Rachel Olsen – a 20-year veteran of the school system – referred to training she had recently received from a program run by a contractor, Queerly Elementary. Continue reading

Department of Education to Probe Athletic Program Allowing Transgender Females to Compete With Girls

The Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights is opening an investigation into whether female high school athletes were discriminated against when the state of Connecticut allowed males who identify as females to compete with them.

The three high school girls pursuing the complaint include Selina Soule, who earlier this year missed qualifying for the 55-meter dash in the New England regionals. Continue reading

Lack of Funding Is Not What Ails American Schools

Money matters, but not if it’s simply tossed into a dysfunctional district.

Last month, researchers from Johns Hopkins University published a heartbreaking study describing the conditions of public schools in Providence, R.I. The report contained a laundry list of problems that plague America’s public schools, such as the inability to fire bad teachers and discipline unruly students, and the need for massive reams of bureaucratic paperwork to get anything done at all.

Here’s what wasn’t a problem: lack of funding. Providence spends $17,192 per pupil every year. Continue reading

Where’s the ‘Public’ in ‘Public Education’?

What is “public” about “public education”? The only role the public plays in it is to get stuck with the tab.

In many school districts, “teachers” earn much higher salaries than the taxpayers who pay the school tax—to say nothing of fabulous pensions which the rest of us can only fantasize about. Oh, we get to elect the school board members; but they don’t represent us. They’re only there to carry out the state’s dictates.

The “pro-choice” leftists who own public education do nothing for us but take away our choices. We don’t have a say in what is taught, or who teaches it. All those choices are made for us by government. Continue reading

Today’s Students and Professors ‘Know Hardly Anything about Anything at All

Six months ago we shared a a frightening observation from Patrick Deneen, a political science professor at Notre Dame who has also taught at Princeton and Georgetown. He described his students as “know-nothings… devoid of any substantial knowledge.”

More recently, a respected author and English professor at Providence College in Rhode Island has echoed Deneen’s concerns. Continue reading

ADHD a Fraud? Harvard Now Thinks So Too

REMEMBER that the public school system gets paid a lot of money for each child diagnosed by a school counselor as ADD or ADHD. ~ Ed.

Renowned Harvard Psychologist Jerome Kagan Says ADHD is Largely a Fraud”, says the headline.

I’ve been saying this since 1996 or so. Glad that Harvard is finally on board.

What’s the problem with ADHD? It’s such a vague diagnostic category that it could apply to almost anybody – especially any child – at any given point in time. Continue reading

The Education Bus and Community Organizers

Cultural Marxism is winning and destroying our own culture by leaps and bounds thanks in no small part to the education system which is now run by cultural Marxists

Conservatives used to believe in the true liberation of people from the enslavement by big and encroaching governments. You could hardly tell that today judging by the huge national debt they’ve escalated under a Republican president and a Republican Senate. They have been as profligate spenders as the Democrats, yet we still don’t have a wall to stop the invasion of illegals through the southern border. Continue reading

Thousands of families want out of D.C. public schools

The D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program, facing its biennial reauthorization, needs some serious improvements to add more qualified students, says an education researcher.

Jude Schwalbach of The Heritage Foundation says there’s a waiting list of nearly 12,000 students wanting to escape poor-performing and dangerous D.C. public schools. So the current budget needs to increase by $7 million to meet the need. Continue reading

What If Public Schools Were Abolished?

Out of the Past – But what has changed???

In American culture, public schools are praised in public and criticized in private, which is roughly the opposite of how we tend to treat large-scale enterprises like Walmart. In public, everyone says that Walmart is awful, filled with shoddy foreign products and exploiting workers. But in private, we buy the well-priced, quality goods, and long lines of people hope to be hired. Continue reading

Lead-based paint found in half of all inspected schools

Editor’s NOTE: I find the following interesting for many, many reasons.

1) I attended the Crestwood Elementary School, Northbrook, Illinois (below) in 1958 which was most assuredly painted with lead-based paint and possibly built with asbestos.

2) All of the schools which I attended were painted with lead-based paint. As I recently posted on one of our blogs, when I was home from school for a week or so with one of the prime diseases of the day… mumps, measles or chicken pox – my father painted my bedroom – while I was in it – WITH lead-based paint.

3) Back in the day, young children and/or students were recipients of somewhere around 6 vaccinations in their young life (compared to – oh – somewhere north of about ten+ times those numbers today).

4) Somehow – we made it through ALL of this without being as affected as those generations who followed us. No obesity, balanced fresh cooked meals, plenty of exercise and activity, no cell-phones or other electronic toys, minimal television time and – once again – very few vaccinations. Do you think that all of this made a difference?

Consider all of the above as you read through the following column. ~ Ed

Betsy DeVos’s School Choice: The Kiss of Death

From the very outset of her nomination by “He who would(n’t) drain the Swamp” – I knew that our children were in more trouble than before. From that very first day – I refereed to her as Betsy Devious! The entire system, the children of our future – and in fact the entire nation is in DEEP trouble. ~ Ed

Do not allow ‘30 pieces of silver’ to be used to betray our country. Choice is the kiss of death. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos is serving up America’s kids on a tax-credit scholarship platter. The future of the Republic hangs on the edge of political upheaval.

Tax-Credit Scholarships are “the Trojan horse” of today. (Iserbyt). The vote for Socialism is near. The movement toward a managed economy is accelerating with the loss of sovereignty at the federal, state, and local government levels. Elected officials will be pushed out leaving only unelected councils. States’ rights will be shattered. No one will realize the havoc this will cause to our nation until it is too late.

Beware. Regulations were published in the Federal Register to control all schools in the nation.(Source) Secretary DeVos has been criss-crossing across the country in support of CHOICE. Her remarks are deceptive. She does not explain the federal strings attached to this public source of funding. (Source) DeVos has an ulterior motive to unwind Blaine Amendments in every state constitution which forbids public funds to support religious schools. She wants federal control of all schools, private and religious schools included. She’s on a mission. Continue reading

Rebecca Friedrichs: The Teachers Union Took My Money To Spend It On Far Left Political Causes

“Full Measure” host Sharyl Attkisson interviews Rebecca Friedrichs, the author of Standing Up to Goliath: Battling State and National Teachers’ Unions for the Heart and Soul of Our Kids and Country, about the debate over forced membership in public sector unions and her Supreme Court case, Friedrichs v. California Teachers Association.

SHARYL ATTKISSON: Why did you object being forced to pay into the teacher union?

REBECCA FRIEDRICHS: The Teachers Union took my money from day one and spent it on far left political causes that were not only against my own values, but we’re bringing harm to the children that I’m hired to serve and protect. Continue reading

Apollo’s Triumph – and Public Schooling’s Tragedy

“To the Moon Alice…”

This past weekend the country celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. It was, for those too young to recall, the first time any nation put humans on an alien world. It was an amazing feat of engineering, ingenuity, and courage.

And it happened just eight years and 56 days after President John F. Kennedy had issued a challenge to the nation to do it. From a presidential speech to footprints on the moon in eight years and a couple months! Continue reading

Revealed: Teaching is political, it’s advocacy – it’s not educational

Dr. Michael L. Brown

Parents aren’t sending their children to school to be indoctrinated by politically correct teachers – and the educational industry has no business pressuring teachers or students or parents to conform to its leftist ideologies. Yet that’s exactly what’s happening.

If you ever wondered if our children’s educational system was politically biased, then look no further than the NEA. It is unashamedly leftist, aggressively for abortion, decidedly pro-LGBT, and unapologetically hostile to those who dare challenge the status quo. (Most recently, see here for the NEA’s abortion advocacy.)

Still, we are sometimes blissfully (and even willfully) ignorant of just how politicized our children’s schools can be. But this email, sent to me by a school teacher, the wife of a Facebook friend, will help shock us back to reality. (We’ll call her Sarah.) Continue reading

The American Public School System Is A Failure And Should Be Trashed!

~ Foreword ~
I was enroute to someplace, or other a few mornings ago, when I had to stop my truck for a school bus to load some reluctant students. As I sat, waiting on those youngsters to board, I thought how unfortunate they are. They were being transported, “free”, to a “free” public school for a “free” education. Of course, that depends on how, exactly, you define “free”. But a “free education” is for another article another time. I am more interested… no… maybe the word should be… “concerned”, or even “troubled”… by the quality of the education or children are receiving in our existing school public school system today in America. Digital School Days

The biggest trend I see for the future is the meltdown of governments at all levels combined with a decentralizing, individual-empowering exponential growth in technology. States, in other words, will self-destruct while people get smarter, stronger, healthier, and freer — they will get a lot smarter, a lot stronger, a lot healthier and from this, freedom from the state will be a natural evolution.

There will be efforts to resurrect states but the attempts will fail. Too many people will recognize the futility of trying to secure their well-being under a monopoly form of government — a government that threatens violence against nonviolent individuals such as taxpayers. As social organizations, states are headed for extinction while technology, in spite of its downsides, will be our liberator. Continue reading

The Indoctrination of our Children Begins Long Before College

The indoctrination begins in the public elementary schools. To give you an idea, CA passed a law requiring ALL public schools to teach LGBTQ acceptance in Public schools. That is ages 5-12, think about that. And they make it required. In my local area, many classrooms show clips of CNN and students are then asked to write about their thoughts on what they saw. Continue reading
