Category Archives: Village of the Damned

Something is terribly wrong with the Education ‘Village‘ of America – the complete breakdown of America’s government controlled education system through indoctrination and Socialism. Our children have become truly ‘damned‘ and will have little chance to truly succeed in this nation – UNLESS – the system can be overturned. Sorry Hillary, but the Village thing hasn’t worked so well – for the children of America. Welcome to the ‘Village‘ – where first we learn, and then we teach!

This category was so-named because of then First Lady, Hillary Clinton’s comment, “It takes a village to raise a child.” In addition to my feelings that our children are truly ‘damned‘ as long as this system is allowed to continue.

The ‘Village‘ is the place that I would not wish to be in today. I was privileged to participate in one of the last non-socialist school systems. Hell – I don’t know – maybe it had already begun, but I had great teachers. At 71 years of age – I can still picture and name over 90% of those whose care I was placed into. What we present here includes a range of commentary by a wide range of authors, which may well not fit into other designated categories. So here we provide, well – you know – “a little of this and a little of that!“

As the esteemed Dr. Rosemary Stein, M.D. has stated; The only way socialism has any chance in America is for the education system to push it in schools. Remember, the father of their modern education ‘Elite’ beliefs is John Dewey. Dewey was a communist, failed teacher who pushed what are now clearly failed education theories. Here is the quote of the day. “This militant crowd is comprised of uninformed and misinformed people looking at themselves as unfortunate, underpaid, underappreciated victims of capitalism, overwhelmed with jealousy that there are people who are everything they are not.”You are going to have to take ownership over the education of your children ~ Rosemary Stein, MD

In the words of Jaime Escalalante ~ “I tell my students, you do not enter the future – you create the future. The future is achieved through hard work.”

Let us guide our children towards creation – of the future. The time is past due for we the people to take back the responsibility of who raises and who teaches OUR children.. and with YOUR help, and the words of our contributors, we will do our best to bring your children to the world which they deserve to live in. ~ Jeffrey Bennett, Kettle Moraine Publications

Mike Pompeo Lashes Out at Critics of Homeschooling, Says Radical Leftists Are Indoctrinating Children

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blasted critics of homeschooling and accused radical-left academics of imposing their values on American children.

Harvard Magazine, an independently edited magazine affiliated with Harvard University, recently published an article warning of the risks of homeschooling as part of their May/June edition. It quotes Elizzabeth Batholet, Wasserstein public interest professor of law and faculty director of the Law School’s Child Advocacy Program, in saying that homeschooling violates children’s rights to a “meaningful education” while also limiting them from contributing to a democratic society. Additionally, Bartholet argues that homeschool is inadequately unregulated across the U.S. and can isolate children from others. Continue reading

Common Core fails: US test scores show no improvement despite billions of dollars thrown at education reform

Results from the latest international exam show U.S. high school students have made “no significant improvement” since the early 2000s and continue to trail students in Asian countries, despite billions of dollars invested in educational reform.

The exam, known as the Program for International Student Assessment, consists of testing exercises in math, reading, and science and is taken by 15-year-old students across the globe every three years. It seeks to measure how students apply knowledge to real-life scenarios and is considered to be a barometer of future economic success.

A report on the results, which were announced Tuesday, stated: Continue reading

Legal Team Challenges Governor’s Coronavirus Order That ‘Bans‘ Some Homeschooling

Critics blast back: ‘Parents have a fundamental constitutional right to raise and educate their children

Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s order closing public school buildings also bans homeschooling, which is unconstitutional, contends a legal non-profit in the state.

“The Great Lakes Justice Center calls upon Gov. Whitmer to correct this unconstitutional action and assure parents in Michigan that they may continue to safely home school their own children while the EO is in effect,” the organization said in a statement Thursday.

The April 2 order states “in-person instruction for pupils in kindergarten through grade 12 … is suspended for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.” Continue reading

Tennessee Middle Schoolchildren REQUIRED To Write “Allah Is The Only God

If the PC police were an actual business, they’d be pulling down millions like Bernie Madoff.

The radical Left has infected public education like we’ve never seen before, and because of it, students in Tennessee are now being taught that ‘Allah is the only God.’

I wish I could say “Bazinga!” right about now. Continue reading

The failure of the school…

Mama’s not too happy…

The public school system my daughter is in was once one of the highest rated in Ohio. I went through this school system myself and have seen the drastic change. Here’s some background on what’s occurring that has our right-leaning community in an uproar, and even some middle-road lefties. The Director of Education – a “male college cheerleader” in his youth (seriously lol), changed the curriculum to meet common-core-type metrics about 6-7 years ago. Purchasing of new books, Chrome Books, equipment, etc. were made. The curriculum change eventually disconnected us from the apples-to-apples metrics the state and other education quality rating organizations use to gauge schools. Slowly each year our school system began rating lower, and lower by state standards… Continue reading

Public Schools Are Brainwashing Factories For Children

Dumbing Us Down by John Gatto is a book that gives you the red pill on modern education and how it is tragically failing those who have to endure it. Since I am a product of the public schools in a predominately Democratic state (Maryland), and received a steroidal dose of liberal brainwashing in university, it’s a small miracle that I was able to fully digest the red pill since the whole point of those who educated me was to keep me ignorant.

School is a twelve-year jail sentence where bad habits are the only curriculum truly learned. I teach school and win awards doing it. I should know.

This book is nothing new to those of you who are already aware of the problems in education, but there are a few key segments that I want to share as Gatto offers his perspective from working as a public school teacher. Continue reading

Teachers are walking away from their careers in Alabama because of unruly students

Mobile, Ala. (WPMI) – It can be tough to be a teacher.

According to a study released last year by the Economic Policy Institute nearly 14% of America’s teachers are either leaving their school or leaving teaching altogether, and school systems are having a hard time replacing them.

Often, it’s because of the pay, but a growing lack of respect for the profession is also to blame.

WPMI spoke with one Alabama teacher who called it quits after just two months on the job.

Two months.

That’s how long this former Mobile County public school teacher lasted in the classroom and he says his departure had everything to do with a lack of student discipline and support. Continue reading

The Vote: The Scariest Word in Orwell’s ‘Animal Farm

To the first-time reader, George Orwell’s 1945 fable Animal Farm might appear to be the story of a grand experiment that began as a veritable utopia before its betrayal by an authoritarian hijacker.

That’s certainly how many leftists, including one of my former professors, view the Russian Revolution on which Orwell’s animal revolution is based… Continue reading

MORE of The Good, the Bad and the UGLY!

Tennessee Middle Schoolchildren REQUIRED To Write “Allah Is The Only God
The radical Left has infected public education like we’ve never seen before, and because of it, students in Tennessee are now being taught that ‘Allah is the only God.’

Parents at a middle school in Spring Hill, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville, are upset that their children have spent three weeks studying Islam and were assigned to write the Shahada profession of the Islamic faith: “Allah is the only god.” Making the situation worse, parents said the teacher skipped over the section on Christianity… (Continue to full article)

13 Times People Kept It Simple
Life can be complicated, especially when you’re trying to learn a bunch of things in school. So many subjects to pay attention to and so little attention to do it with!

Luckily for these kids, they didn’t panic and they kept it together and went with a really simple approach. Looks like it paid off… (Continue to full article)

Lincoln to slaves: Go somewhere else!
You have heard us say it for years, “Lincoln may have been the Nation’s first Politician.

The issue of slavery divided the country under Abraham Lincoln’s Presidency. The national argument was simple: either keep slavery or abolish it. But Abraham Lincoln, known as the Great Emancipator, may have also been known as the Great Colonizer when he supported a third direction to the slavery debate: move African Americans somewhere else… (Continue to full article)

Social Justice Revisionism Comes for Washington and Lee
On the recommendations of Washington and Lee’s “Commission on Institutional History and Community,” the board voted to close off the Recumbent Statue of Robert E. Lee in the university chapel that bears his name and to remove the name of John Robinson from an important campus building.

A group of alumni were concerned by those decisions and started to dig deeper. They discovered that those weren’t the only attempts to de-emphasize their school’s history. Over the preceding year, the school ended prayer at public ceremonies, temporarily removed a stop in the interior of Lee Chapel from campus tours for prospective students, and even briefly banned a children’s book on Lee’s horse, Traveller… (Continue to full article)

Reading, Writing, Arithmetic or SEX, What’s in Your school?
Should the federal government subsidize Planned Parenthood’s radical sex education curriculum?

In 1963, Rep Herlong (D FL) read 45 Goals of Communism into the congressional record. This was 53 years ago when the Democrat Party actually stood for decency and understood the dangers of communism. Today the majority of those goals are being practiced… (Continue to full article)

The value of owning more books than you can read
I love books. If I go to the bookstore to check a price, I walk out with three books I probably didn’t know existed beforehand. I buy second-hand books by the bagful at the Friends of the Library sale, while explaining to my wife that it’s for a good cause. Even the smell of books grips me, that faint aroma of earthy vanilla that wafts up at you when you flip a page.

The problem is that my book-buying habit outpaces my ability to read them. This leads to occasional pangs of guilt over the unread volumes spilling across my shelves. Sound familiar? But it’s possible this guilt is entirely misplaced.. (Continue to full article)

Math gets woke

Anti-Western philosophy and history will now be part of arithmetic lessons

“Watchoo talkin’ ’bout, Willis?” (SDI Productions)

If you scan alarmist websites as I do, you may have run across the alarming news that the Seattle School Board is considering new guidelines for what might be called “social justice math.” Some culture watchers have taken this to mean that 2 plus 2 is no longer 4, but that’s not exactly the case. Math functions will remain the same, and there will still be such a thing as a right answer. Continue reading

Public schools are teaching our children to hate America

“A government is like everything else: to preserve it, we must love it.”

Today’s schools teach only the ugliest parts of US history, turning students off from civic engagement. Shutterstock

When he was young, Thomas Jefferson carefully copied those words — a quote from the great political philosopher Montesquieu — into his “commonplace book,” the private journal he kept as a student for future inspiration.

Everything, therefore, depends on establishing this love in a republic,” the passage continued. “And to inspire it ought to be the principal business of education.”

Thomas Jefferson thought teaching children American History, at an early age, should be a central focus. Continue reading

Teachers’ Union Refuses to Work with Trump, Vows to Push ‘Transgender’ Ideology on Students

America’s teachers’ union is refusing to work with President Trump on education issues and has vowed to promote “transgender” ideology among students.

Seattle Public Schools Will Start Teaching That Math Is Oppressive

A new ethnic studies curriculum will teach students that “ancient mathematical knowledge has been appropriated by Western culture.”

The REAL reason for Common-Core?

Math is a deeply frustrating subject for many elementary and high school students (thanks to Common-Core? ~ Ed.). But Seattle public schools are gearing up to accuse math of a litany of more serious crimes: imperialism, dehumanization, and oppression of marginalized persons. Continue reading

Yes, Parents Are Capable of Choosing How Their Children Should Be Educated

The idea that parents get in the way of children’s education and can halt their flourishing is nothing new. It’s also false!

At the heart of debates around education freedom and school choice is the subtle but sinister sentiment that parents can’t be trusted. They are too busy, too poor, or too ignorant to make the right decisions for their kids, and others know better how to raise and educate children. Never mind that parents have successfully cared for and educated their children for millennia, ensuring the ongoing survival and continued success of our species. Continue reading

How Dumb Have We Become?

Chinese Students Are 4 Grade Levels Ahead Of U.S. Students In Math

How in the world is America supposed to remain “the greatest country on Earth” when other nations are absolutely running circles around us when it comes to education? As you will see below, one survey found that 15-year-old students in China are almost four full grade levels ahead of 15-year-old students in the United States in mathematics. This is one of the most damning indictments of our education system that I have ever come across, and it is yet another clear indication that what we are doing is simply not working. Our children are not being given the tools that they need to compete in our modern society, and we have only ourselves to blame… Continue reading
