How in the world is America supposed to remain “the greatest country on Earth” when other nations are absolutely running circles around us when it comes to education? As you will see below, one survey found that 15-year-old students in China are almost four full grade levels ahead of 15-year-old students in the United States in mathematics. Texas Values: Austin schools deceiving parents again
Emails from a Texas public-school district revealed that liberal school leaders evaded a state law in order to obtain explicit sex-ed lessons.

When the National Education Association (NEA) partnered with a radical homosexual and transgender group known as the “Human Rights Campaign” to create “welcoming schools,” a lot of public-school teachers felt uncomfortable, if not outraged. But when the groups sent out a mass e-mail encouraging teachers to ask young children what “pronouns” they prefer — he, she, they, z, tree, and so on — that was a bridge too far for many.
In a video produced as part of the campaign, two transgender children discuss their preferred pronouns with each other. One of the children prefers the plural pronoun “they,” while the other, who claims not to be a boy or a girl, prefers “zee.” Seriously. After that, the two children discuss the alleged need to “educate” their own teachers, especially substitutes, on the supposed importance of using the newly invented pronouns that students choose for themselves. School system apologizes for ‘inappropriate’ homework assignment
Questions dealt with values of slaves versus white people
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (WBTV) – The Kannapolis City School System has apologized to a parent after a child was given a homework assignment that the system says was inappropriate.
The parent posted the assignment on social media. It was given out by a teacher at Kannapolis Middle School. A section on the assignment asked students to compare the values of slaves with white people. Continue reading

I recently read an article by Michael Snyder of The End of The American Dream blog, which grabbed my attention because I have recently done a few articles on public education for my Revised History blog spot. All things considered, I felt it was about time to do another one for The Copperhead Chronicle blog, and what more important issue to do one on than what passes for education in this country. Woke Preschoolers: Indoctrinating Our Youngest Children
Whether something is education or indoctrination seems to be a matter of where you stand on its content. I have heard C.S. Lewis’ beloved classic The Chronicles of Narnia accused of indoctrinating children with Christianity. (Enter the Poison being fed our children. ~ Ed.)
My understanding is that indoctrination teaches a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically.
Now, I believe my preschool children, aged 3 and 5, are being indoctrinated at their childcare center by a text espousing a set of values vastly different from those Lewis held. It’s title is, We Are All Equal. Continue reading

Is Anyone Really Surprised???
Just today, someone sent me a copy of an article about “Leftist Racial Literacy Curriculum” in elementary schools. The article was originally posted on November 12th and was written by Marina Medvin. While Ms. Medvin noted lots of problems with the leftist slant in school curriculum, it was evident that she had not read a lot of history in this area. I do not say that to belittle her efforts in any way, but only to point out that there is lots of history she has not been taught–not that this is her fault. And she pointed out things parents need to be aware of.
She pointed out, accurately, that: “Elementary schools teach children at the most fragile and impressionable ages. Ages six to twelve–children are innocent, persuadable, malleable. For the proper care of our children, elementary schools must be held to the highest standards of care and objectivity. But what happens to these children when leftist politics invade and alter their social studies curriculum to teach our kids that America is a country of hate, inequity, and oppression? What happens when children no longer recite the Pledge of Allegiance or celebrate Veteran’s Day, but instead regurgitate the words ‘Racism is a primary institution of the United States’ and celebrate ‘Indigenous Peoples Day?’ What happens to our future? Do we lose America as we know it? Do elementary schools fail our children?” Continue reading
