Common Core has to do with the Government’s latest educational “benefit” called Common Core then it has continued to misguide our children down the path of Common Core-Uption. Bill Gates has admitted to its failure, but now wants to reinvent the public school system once more.

Common Core: The Fundamental Transformation of America

Our children are our most precious resource, our most prominent responsibility and the future of this society, if we fail them … We fail America and humanity itself.

Yet we have allowed corporatist entities of all persuasions, and corrupt and complicit government officials to hijack the most vital aspect of said responsibility … their education.

No longer is free thinking rewarded as a mechanism of success, now being vanilla, blending in, or being a part of the herd is promoted. The intent is to facilitate through Common Core a generation of followers not leaders who would in turn NOT challenge the system, but mindlessly conform to and perpetuate the system. 9 Years Into Common Core, Test Scores Are Down, Indoctrination Up

Common Core sucked all the energy, money, and motivation right out of desperately needed potential reforms to U.S. public schools for a decade, and for nothing.

It’s been about nine years since the Obama administration lured states into adopting Common Core sight unseen, with promises it would improve student achievement. Like President Obama’s other big promises — “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor” — this one’s been proven a scam.

If you set and enforce rigorous and challenging standards and assessments; if you put outstanding teachers at the front of the classroom; if you turn around failing schools — your state can win a Race to the Top grant that will not only help students outcompete workers around the world, but let them fulfill their God-given potential,” President Obama said in July 2009. Thanks, Common Core: ACT Scores for Class of 2018 Worst in Decades

The creators of the ACT test announced on Wednesday that scores for the class of 2018 are the worst reported in decades. Math scores, in fact, are in freefall among ACT-tested U.S. high school graduates, falling to their lowest mark in 14 years, according to The Condition of College and Career Readiness 2018, the ACT’s annual report.

The report includes ACT test results from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Continue reading

California’s Common Core Mistake

The Common Core curriculum-content standards are a national listing of topics that students are expected to learn in the subjects of English and mathematics. An independent initiative of three Washington, D.C.-based organizations created the national standards, but they were endorsed and promoted by the Obama-era U.S. Department of Education. The standards were released in June 2010. Their summer launch meant that teachers and parents did not have much of an opportunity to discuss their merits and drawbacks. Abiding by the standards was necessary for states to be eligible for massive federal grants. California adopted the national standards and fully implemented them in 2014-2015. Continue reading

Does Common Core Ask Too Much of Kindergarten Readers?

Sandwiched between preschool and first grade, kindergarteners often start school at very different stages of development depending on their exposure to preschool, home environments and biology. For states adopting Common Core, the standards apply to kindergarten, laying out what students should be able to do by the end of the grade.* Kindergartners are expected to know basic phonics and word recognition as well as read beginner texts, skills some childhood development experts argue are developmentally inappropriate. Florida School Ditches Common Core! Soars To Number One in State!

Mason Classical Academy dumped the Common Core program in favor of traditional teaching methods and has since jumped to the number one position in the Florida’s top schools list, according to government statistics.

The charter school in Naples, Florida, decided against forcing kids to learn the Obama endorsed Common Core method of teaching.

They were not happy with the way it deliberately dumbs down children and created unnecessary and complicated methods for working out relatively simple problems. Continue reading

How the ‘New Math’ is Ruining Education

A student is showing his frustration at the example of the new math.

By now, you’ve probably seen some of the complaints on the internet about the “new math” being promoted by the Common Core Standards.

Many grade-school children have come home with math homework that is virtually indecipherable to their parents.

The goal behind the new math, it seems, is to encourage children to not just solve their basic arithmetic problems, but to understand the concepts underlying them. Continue reading

Common Core-Uption

On March 27, 2015 Dr. Duke Pesta spoke on the dangers of Common Core. No doubt one of the most outspoken critic of the Common Core State Standards, Dr. Pesta exposes the origins and dangers of the Common Core scheme. Through his and other’s efforts, people are beginning to fight back on behalf of their children. From this video, you will learn why our local school districts are so secretive, all about the government’s overreach, its concealment and outright lies that drive Common Core. Continue reading

Common Core? 6th Graders Taught How to Use Strap-On Dildo

Explicit: 11-12 year olds given sex toy lesson in Jacksonville

Shocking images out of a classroom in Jacksonville, Florida illustrate how 11-12 year olds in 6th grade are being taught how to use strap-on dildos amidst a debate about Common Core sex education standards which have been attacked by some as pornographic.

The pictures were taken by a student with a cellphone camera. They show a teacher demonstrating how to use a strap-on sex toy in a number of different positions.

In one image, the teacher even shows how to insert the strap-on while her buttocks are in the air and her legs up over her head.

In another image, the woman shows the children how to wear a harness to which the strap-on is attached. Continue reading

N.H. Takes Action to End Common Core Mandate, But Feds Still a Threat

Common Core took a hit in New Hampshire last month.

Although the state adopted the Common Core standards, Republican Governor Chris Sununu signed Senate Bill 44 into law, which “prohibits the department of education and the state board of education” from requiring schools to implement Common Core. The bill will go into effect September 16.

Education Commissioner Frank Edelblut also said he plans an informal review of the Common Core standards, despite the state Board of Education voting against a formal review. Edelblut campaigned against Common Core in his unsuccessful run for governor last year.

Common Core is a set of education standards developed under the auspices of the National Governor’s Association to encourage uniform standards across state lines. It received flack from opponents who say the standards don’t help students and that local schools should be more autonomous. Continue reading

3 Examples That Show How Common Core Is Destroying Math Education In America

Whenever you let federal bureaucrats get their hands on anything they are probably going to ruin it. During the Obama administration, the Department of Education spearheaded a transformation of American education that was absolutely breathtaking. Over a period of about five years, Common Core standards were implemented in almost every state in the entire nation. Unfortunately, this has resulted in a huge step backward for public education in this country. Common Core has been called “state-sponsored child abuse”, and it is a big reason why U.S. students are scoring so poorly on standardized tests compared to much of the rest of the world.

According to Wikipedia, at one point 46 states had adopted Common Core, but now some states are having second thoughts… Continue reading

Florida school dumps common core then skyrockets to number one in English Language Arts, with 90 percent scoring proficient

There is a reason that people have learned reading, writing and arithmetic in generally the same way over the years, and that’s because the tried-and-true traditional methods work. That’s why many people wondered what the real agenda of the Common Core national standards were when the Obama administration started pushing for it so relentlessly. This ridiculous set of educational standards has left many students and parents baffled and frustrated, and it’s believed to be a key reason that American kids are lagging behind other nations in academic performance. What would happen if we got rid of it entirely? If the results gained by one Florida school are any indication, we would likely all be much better off.

Mason Classical Academy, a charter school in Naples, Florida, prides itself on providing a classical education, which it believes brings about “superior educational results” – and leading the county in English Language Arts is proof they’re on the right track. Continue reading
