Is Anyone Really Surprised???
Just today, someone sent me a copy of an article about “Leftist Racial Literacy Curriculum” in elementary schools. The article was originally posted on November 12th and was written by Marina Medvin. While Ms. Medvin noted lots of problems with the leftist slant in school curriculum, it was evident that she had not read a lot of history in this area. I do not say that to belittle her efforts in any way, but only to point out that there is lots of history she has not been taught–not that this is her fault. And she pointed out things parents need to be aware of.
She pointed out, accurately, that: “Elementary schools teach children at the most fragile and impressionable ages. Ages six to twelve–children are innocent, persuadable, malleable. For the proper care of our children, elementary schools must be held to the highest standards of care and objectivity. But what happens to these children when leftist politics invade and alter their social studies curriculum to teach our kids that America is a country of hate, inequity, and oppression? What happens when children no longer recite the Pledge of Allegiance or celebrate Veteran’s Day, but instead regurgitate the words ‘Racism is a primary institution of the United States’ and celebrate ‘Indigenous Peoples Day?’ What happens to our future? Do we lose America as we know it? Do elementary schools fail our children?”
These are all good questions–but they were all answered decades ago, and the answers were not, and are not, promising. Her comment about the Pledge of Allegiance shows that her history teachers had already programmed her in the wrong direction. The Pledge of Allegiance was written by a Massachusetts socialist who was kicked out of his church (in Massachusetts no less) for preaching that Jesus was a socialist. They don’t teach you that in school. You have to find out on your own. I have not said that pledge in well over twenty years now. Once I found out about its socialist (and anti-Southern origins) I quit saying it.
As for “Indigenous Peoples Day” the leftists in education have been promoting that for years. I recall reading about it back in the late 1970s.
Medvin asks about our future and losing “America as we know it.” You want a look at our future? Unless Christians begin to wake up and start doing something, our future is going to look like all the socialists who now infest the US Congress. Unless we begin to wake up and act, our future will look like Alexandra Occasio Cortez and that radical Muslim woman from Michigan whose name I can’t spell here because I will probably get it wrong, but you all know who I mean.
The America so many would love to preserve–the “good old days” of the 1950s, is gone. It ain’t never coming back so let’s don’t kid ourselves. America as we knew it is gone–forever–and we need to start to come to grips with what has replaced it–and that ain’t pretty!
Medvin notes the Pollyanna “Racial Literacy Curriculum” being used in “elementary schools in Virginia, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, California, Rhode Island, Missouri and Illinois.” She states that these states have all “adopted the mind-blowing, politically-charged brainwash that they tout as education. Topics for Kindergarten to grade 8 include: implicit bias, white privilege,…LGBTQ issues, racism as a ‘primary institution of the US’ and other such leftist agenda talking points.”
She notes that she is sounding a clear warning about what goes on in elementary schools and that our children are in trouble. Our children have been in trouble in public schools in this country since sometime in the middle of the 19th century. Let that thought sink in a bit. This is not a new problem! The textbook protest in Kanawha County, West Virginia in the mid-1970s, pointed out lots of these problems, but the history of that has been mostly covered up by a couple generations of leftist effluvia that has tried to paint it as a uniquely local issue in West Virginia. It was much more than that. It was, in reality, a situation that was happening all across the country except that the leftist mainstream media mostly covered it up. And it has only gotten worse since then, and they are still covering it up!
Medvin notes that there seem to be no new strategies emerging to deal with this leftist onslaught. She may be right. Except there is one strategy that was around then and still is today, that almost no one wants to deal with–the novel concept of getting your kids out of these rotten schools. Almost no one, Christians in particular, seems to want to go that route–too much personal responsibility for parents! Yet that is the one thing they should start out with–getting their kids out of these public brain laundries. You will never reverse this trend until Christian parents, in sufficient numbers, start saying Enough! My kids are not putting up with this leftist garbage anymore. I am going to start checking out other educational options. Christian schools and home schooling are two of the main options you need to check out.
I’m not saying all public school teachers are bad people. That would be patently unfair and untrue. But the system they labor in has been anti-Christian since the 1830s–that’s right, 1830s, not 1930s! And concerned people have been warning the public about it for at least 100 years now, but it seems most do not want to hear it.
And those that do not want to hear it will continue to sacrifice their children to it and what do you think the results will be? Look at the socialists in Congress to see the results. That’s the next generation unless folks wake up!
