Category Archives: Village of the Damned

Something is terribly wrong with the Education ‘Village‘ of America – the complete breakdown of America’s government controlled education system through indoctrination and Socialism. Our children have become truly ‘damned‘ and will have little chance to truly succeed in this nation – UNLESS – the system can be overturned. Sorry Hillary, but the Village thing hasn’t worked so well – for the children of America. Welcome to the ‘Village‘ – where first we learn, and then we teach!

This category was so-named because of then First Lady, Hillary Clinton’s comment, “It takes a village to raise a child.” In addition to my feelings that our children are truly ‘damned‘ as long as this system is allowed to continue.

The ‘Village‘ is the place that I would not wish to be in today. I was privileged to participate in one of the last non-socialist school systems. Hell – I don’t know – maybe it had already begun, but I had great teachers. At 71 years of age – I can still picture and name over 90% of those whose care I was placed into. What we present here includes a range of commentary by a wide range of authors, which may well not fit into other designated categories. So here we provide, well – you know – “a little of this and a little of that!“

As the esteemed Dr. Rosemary Stein, M.D. has stated; The only way socialism has any chance in America is for the education system to push it in schools. Remember, the father of their modern education ‘Elite’ beliefs is John Dewey. Dewey was a communist, failed teacher who pushed what are now clearly failed education theories. Here is the quote of the day. “This militant crowd is comprised of uninformed and misinformed people looking at themselves as unfortunate, underpaid, underappreciated victims of capitalism, overwhelmed with jealousy that there are people who are everything they are not.”You are going to have to take ownership over the education of your children ~ Rosemary Stein, MD

In the words of Jaime Escalalante ~ “I tell my students, you do not enter the future – you create the future. The future is achieved through hard work.”

Let us guide our children towards creation – of the future. The time is past due for we the people to take back the responsibility of who raises and who teaches OUR children.. and with YOUR help, and the words of our contributors, we will do our best to bring your children to the world which they deserve to live in. ~ Jeffrey Bennett, Kettle Moraine Publications

Fruits of College Indoctrination

Walter E. Williams, Emeritus Distinguished Professor of Economics, George Mason University.

Much of today’s incivility and contempt for personal liberty has its roots on college campuses, and most of the uncivil and contemptuous are people with college backgrounds. Let’s look at a few highly publicized recent examples of incivility and attacks on free speech.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, were accosted and harassed by a deranged left-wing mob as they were leaving a dinner at Georgetown University. Sen. McConnell was harassed by protesters at Reagan National Airport, as well as at several venues in Kentucky. Sen. Ted Cruz and his wife were harassed at a Washington, D.C., restaurant. Assessment

John Taylor Gatto

“Our form of compulsory schooling is an invention of the State of Massachusetts around 1850. It was resisted — sometimes with guns — by an estimated eighty percent of the Massachusetts population, the last outpost in Barnstable on Cape Cod not surrendering its children until the 1880s, when the area was seized by militia and children marched to school under guard.” – John Taylor Gatto, Dumbing Us Down: The Hidden Curriculum of Compulsory Schooling. If You Think Problems With Government Schools Are New – You Better Think Again

Many seem to think that problems with the content of what passes for education in public schools is, somehow, a recent development, maybe a problem for the last twenty years or so, but certainly no longer. If you are one of those folks you need to rethink your position and gain a little perspective in this area. Public schools have been a major problem for longer than any of you have been alive. That statement may shock some, but the evidence is out there if you are willing to pursue it. Continue reading

Was This “Tattle-Tale Culture” Encouraged by Public Schools?

In all countries, in all centuries, the primary reason for government to set up schools is to undermine the politically weak by convincing their children that the leaders are good and their policies are wise.” ~ Marshall Fritz

The band Bowling for Soup has a song called “High School Never Ends.”

In it, the singer complains that he thought all the terrible things about high school would end once he graduated.

Unfortunately, he discovers…

The whole damned world is just as obsessed
With who’s the best dressed and who’s having sex
Who’s got the money, who gets the honeys
Who’s kinda cute and who’s just a mess
And you still don’t have the right look
And you don’t have the right friends
Nothing changes but the faces, the names and the trends
High school never ends…

I couldn’t help thinking of this song as I watched four videos this week of “tattle-tales” calling the police for the dumbest reasons. Continue reading

Benson: Non-Socialist College Students Hardly Have a Chance Anymore!

Hillsdale College

It seems, on many, if not most, college campuses in this era of extreme cultural Marxism (political correctness) the only way for conservative and patriotic students to survive is to keep their heads down and their thoughts totally to themselves about anything political–and cultural as well. There is no one on campus that will go to bat for them if they dare to utter anything but the most recent interpretation of Leftist dogma.

American Enterprise Institute scholar Samuel Abrams wrote a report on this that was published by The New York Times, of all papers. Continue reading

Benson: Only the Left is Left at College

Anyone who has followed the college scene in the last several decades has to realize that most college campuses in our day are so far to the left they are almost over the edge. Some of the leftist sponsored programs at some college campuses are strictly exercises straight from La-La Land and I often wonder if some of the students involved realize the ramifications of this cultural Marxist drivel and how it will impact their lives, and even the lives of their children. Obviously they don’t because they continue to “wallow in the cultural Marxist garbage” thinking they are making the world a better place when all they are really doing is playing the part of useful idiots for their leftist manipulators. Benson: March Into College and Turn Left!

Anyone in this benighted age who tries to tell me colleges and universities do not have a very decided Leftist bent is someone I will probably tell to go and whistle Yankee Doodle. I have worked at two of these “institutions of learning” over the years and have seen firsthand the direction they travel in and try to push their students in. And this is not just in the Left-leaning northeast but all over the country, even here in the South, although far too many Southern folk seem to have a problem grasping that fact. Continue reading

Benson: Pink Indoctrination Posing As Education

“Free education for all children in public schools” has been the rallying cry of the Left, both in this country and others, for over a century and a half. If there is actually anyone still left that wonders why the political and theological Left has such a passion for promoting public “education” let me say this. Public education, as presently constituted, is an ideal platform from which to promote Leftist indoctrination of future generations. It’s made to order and the Left has been exploiting it for longer than most of us have been alive. Those wishful thinkers that want to reform public education to get it back to the “good old days” have yet to figure this out. Continue reading

Benson: Education As Civil War

Civil war via “education” (mostly public education) was declared on the American public long, long ago, back in the 1830s, as a matter of fact.

You had a certain intelligentsia in this country (and other places) in the early years of the nineteenth century that had a vision for the united States that did not include that which was envisioned by those who came here to escape religious persecution or for a better life for their families, and, by extension, for their descendants. This intelligentsia was composed of “an artistic, social, or political vanguard or elite.” In other words, these were the people that were going to show and tell the rest of us how to live–whether we wanted what they had to offer or not. Third Grade Teacher Creates Chart to Teach Kids ‘Consent

A third-grade teacher from the city of Los Angeles — a liberal “educator” from the land of fruits and nuts? Now the rest of the story makes sense — had come up with a chart to help her students understand the concept of “consent.”

If this sounds far too young to be learning something like this, don’t worry. The same school probably also teaches kids it’s okay to practice homosexuality and gender confusion. Why not round out the package deal with an extra dose of insanity? Continue reading

The Civics Lessons They Never Teach Anymore

It is the duty of the citizen to judge all political acts on the great principles of the government.”

February 3, 2017 ~ Following Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court, my morning commute was wall-to-wall with it, including plenty of weasel words (e.g., Senator Schumer’s fixation on tarring him as “outside the mainstream”) and heat (e.g., Congresswoman Pelosi’s assertion it was “a very hostile appointment”). One talking head quipped that the acute divide was because Americans weren’t taught civics anymore. Continue reading

Education board not interested in rewriting history

Despite pressure from progressives who would like to change Texas history, that state’s board of education has held firm.

An unelected work group has again made radical recommendations for the Texas school curriculum. Among those recommendations: remove the word “heroic” from the description of the Alamo defenders, remove all references to America’s Judeo-Christian heritage and legal tradition – and fully remove references to the Old Testament prophet Moses as a historical figure related to law and government. 3 Reasons Kids Are Misbehaving More – and What Parents Can Do About It

A few years ago, I took a summer job working at a local school’s childcare program. I was placed with a group of students grades four through eight. I had a great experience, but I will admit it was not easy. Some of the children had me positively pulling out my hair. I’m not alone in this – teachers, parents, and childcare providers across the board are increasingly concerned about children misbehaving. Continue reading

Is the Big Standardized Test a Big Standardized Flop?

Since No Child Left Behind first rumbled onto the scene, the use of a Big Standardized Test to drive accountability and measure success has been a fundamental piece of education reform. But recently, some education reform stalwarts are beginning to express doubts.

This may not be the key to a better tomorrow. (Getty Royalty Free)

There are plenty of reasons to doubt the validity of the Big Standardized Test, be it PARCC or SBA or whatever your state is using these days. After almost two decades of its use, we’ve raised an entire generation of students around the notion of test-based accountability, and yet the fruits of that seem…. well, elusive. Where are the waves of students now arriving on college campuses super-prepared? Where are the businesses proclaiming that today’s grads are the most awesome in history? Where is the increase in citizens with great-paying jobs? Where are any visible signs that the test-based accountability system has worked? Continue reading

More than a THIRD of college freshmen have a mental health disorder

Stress levels are sky-rocketing among every age group, and students adjusting to their first year of college may be particularly vulnerable.

All around the world, young adults making their first foray into college and the real world are struggling with depression, anxiety and other mental health disorders

Schools have taken steps to meet the psychological needs of their student body, but a far smaller fraction of the students utilize on-campus counseling services, but that hasn’t curbed rising rates of mental health disorders among students around the world, according to the new Columbia University study. Public Schooling: A Waste Of Time And Money

The earth’s about to be destroyed, and you’ve got a spaceship that can carry people to another planet. The problem is, you can only take eight passengers and you’ve got a list of twelve. Four will have to be left behind to die. Which eight do you take?

This inane scenario was recently a classroom “lesson” at a middle school in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Somehow it’s supposed to “educate” children and prepare them for adult life.

Meanwhile, down in Atlanta, the principal of a charter school decided the Pledge of Allegiance ought to be dropped, and replaced by some kind of “oath” to the “global society”, whatever the devil that is.

Your school tax dollars at work! Continue reading

Benson: Now It Really Begins

Now it has begun–the total censorship of conservative, pro-Southern, patriotic sites off the internet. Trump’s comments about censorship notwithstanding, the Deep State has begun a purge on the internet of anything they don’t agree with. They totally ignore Trump’s comments about checking into it if censorship prevails. Maybe they are really not afraid of what he can or will do. That fact alone should tell you something. You have to wonder what their plans for Trump are (nothing good, that’s for sure!) in the days preceding the mid-terms.

Alex Jones has been banned off lots of places in the internet, Twitter among them, but they can’t ban me off Twitter because I don’t use it. However, they are in the process of seeking to render my blog spots all but useless. I don’t know how many of you will receive this, probably not all on my list, but here goes anyway. Maybe some who do get it can pass it on to their lists. Continue reading

Benson: Lest We Forget

It has been forty four years ago this month, if my timeline is correct, that government (public) schools reopened in Kanawha County, West Virginia to a very slim group of students. Most of the students were kept at home by parents who had major (and understandable) problems with the textbooks their kids were supposed to use that year and they were not about to subject their kids to what many of them felt were pornographic texts.

I’ve seen copies of what was in some of the books. The parents were right.

This whole situation set off a major struggle over who really controlled what passes for public education in this country–and just to give you a subtle hint–it ain’t the parents. Even with Trump’s new education secretary, it still ain’t the parents. A public school system run by the state will never be under the control of the parents, no matter what you may hear at the parent-teacher meetings. Continue reading

There is No Place for Compulsory Schooling in a Civilized Society

Restricting teens’ rights is causing massive mental health issues and the likely cause of the surge in teen suicide

A woman is facing 30 days in jail because her son missed too many days of school. His 82% attendance record wasn’t enough to keep her out of court.

Just let it sink in that you can be put in a cage if the state doesn’t have control over your child for a certain number of days each year. Continue reading
