From the story: Brown, a Democrat, did not hold a public signing or issue a press release regarding the passing of Senate Bill 744 on July 14, and the measure, which was approved by lawmakers in June, was not added into the state’s legislative database until more than two weeks later on July 29, an unusually quiet approach to enacting legislation. Shockingly, the governor’s spokesperson insulted minorities, saying they are the reason for the lack of standards. From Jazz Shaw: As to the delay in updating the database, there was at least an answer provided to the media.
The secretary of the state Senate’s office said that a key staffer who is responsible for dealing with the Governor’s office and updating the legislative database “was experiencing medical issues” during the fifteen days of silence about this bill. But that answer doesn’t hold water either because several bills were signed on July 19th and entered into the database the same day. What are these people trying to hide? Is it possible that they’re ashamed of what they’ve done and were hoping the public wouldn’t notice? Given the nature of what they’ve done, that’s at least a reasonable guess. (Hot Air).

DeSantis Threatens to Withhold School Board Salaries if They Defy State Ban on Mask Mandates
From the story: A few days ago Florida’s Board of Ed smacked pro-mandate local school officials by authorizing private-school vouchers for kids in public schools whose district is requiring them to mask up. Days before that, DeSantis threatened to withhold funding from school districts that defied his ban on mandates. Today his office added that school board members might — not will, but might — be hit in the wallet themselves by having their salaries withheld if they press ahead with mandatory masking in defiance of his orders. Parents create SPLINTER school board after notoriously woke Virginia board banned them from commenting on its plans to teach students Critical Race Theory
Dozens of Loudoun County, Virginia residents held their own shadow school board assembly at a parent’s backyard to protest limits on public comments placed by the official panel after a raucous June meeting over critical race theory led to arrests.
Some 40 parents held the impromptu assembly at a local residence after the Loudoun County School Board eliminated a public viewing area and limited the amount of time parents were allowed to speak before the panel.

Loudoun County Schools APPROVES controversial new transgender rules that will let pupils choose their own bathrooms and force teachers to address them by their preferred pronouns
A school board that has sparked outrage over its critical race theory lessons has voted to force teachers to address transgender students by their chosen pronouns.
The Loudoun County School Board approved Policy 8040 Wednesday night, which also allows trans children to use the lockerroom and bathroom that corresponds with their gender identity.
Policy 8040, which had attracted vociferous protesters and supporters at previous school board meetings, was approved a with a vote of 7-to-2 after more than four hours of public comments and debate. It was also amended multiple times.
