Stupidity is rampant in this country. I blame freedom of speech and our misinterpretation that the noise emanating from our pie-hole is of value. In fact, it is still just noise. A college degree shows that you persevered and stayed the course for multiple years. The degree does not impart wisdom or understanding of the subject matter. It simply means that you sat still without challenging or using that information. Upon graduation, a student is a basic repository of data, much like a data disk. The data is there but useless until it is accessed. It is not until we access and use the data that it has value.
Too many graduates think that the conference of a degrees means that they are ready to impart or playback the data they gained. It is NOT knowledge or wisdom. Those develop after years of actively using the data and discovering that the only true knowledge is that you still have a lot to learn.
Educational systems no longer encourage thinking… That leads to anarchy and rebellion. It causes people to question the status quo and to challenge what’s being said. It leads to discussion and understanding, not blind acceptance.
Only when a person learns to link for him/her self are they totally free and beginning to learn. How sad that after all this time, we still don’t encourage our children to think in school. Those poor little data banks. They could be so much more. But that’s not what we want, is it?
