When the Metropolis Café project was launched in February 2017, my goals were numerous – and remain so, but… too few of the readers (or should I say ‘visitors’?) get it – but then this is the disease of our modern society.
For those who “don’t get it”, the segments of this blog which teach history (Mr. Adair’s Classroom in particular) is not meant to promote anything else but what has been incorrectly taught for the past century and a half. As an example, the cause of the Confederacy had less to do with slavery than you have ever been taught – and I was born in the Nawth!

A veteran of Viet Nam, student of history (both American and film), Jeffrey Bennett has been broadcasting for nearly twenty two years as host of various radio-satellite and internet based programs and has been considered the voice of reason on the alternative media – providing a unique and distinctive broadcast style, including topics such as your Financial, Physical, and Spiritual well-being, education, news, Federal and local legislative issues, which will affect our future, political satire (with a twist), and editorial commentary on current events through the teaching of history. Through The Book Shelf, Bennett has published numerous books on American History – TRUE history – not re-worked, altered history. The Book Shelf has also published books for unknown authors, whose dedication to truth – stands alone.
Jeffrey is the founder and CEO of Kettle Moraine, Ltd. Publications, which is the host and developer of numerous websites, including the Metropolis Café, Dr. Kelley’s Victory Over Cancer, The Book Shelf, Kettle Moraine Precious Metals and The Federal Observer – a daily on-line publication, which co-authored and spear-headed a petition, which ultimately caused new legislation to be signed by President Bush within 450 days of the events that rocked our world on September 11, 2001. In addition, Kettle Moraine, Ltd., continues to produce Life, Liberty & All That Jazz, a daily broadcast for The Micro Effect Network.
Right you are, Mr Dickens! Fortunately, each and every time we speak or write a thing that has that “ring of a silver bell”, – of course, after thinking on it ourselves, at least a lil’ wee bit – we exercise our desire to believe and act on what is really so, not simply what we wish were so.
In short, we THINK for ourselves. Others will undoubtedly long to do the same, seeing how thoroughly we enjoy doing that.
I keep asking myself why we would lie to our children. The answer I fear is because we lie to ourselves. It difficult and uncomfortable to stand alone. To stand for your beliefs and for your convictions. It too easy to waffle or to cave to the popular directions. History as Napoleon said it is a series of lies agreed upon. Who knows the truth, and as we all know the truth is transitory.
Would we feel as strongly about racism and slavery if the truth about the war of northern aggression was really understood? Would we feel more shame if we knew the truth about our treatment of native Americans? Would we laud the European colonialist that took this country by force?
Again, I fear the answer is no. Our sympathies would be with the oppressed and against the agressors not and certainly not with the colonizers. Fortunately for some of us, we have discovered the truth through education and through reading to find the truth.
Our current crop of automatons will make perfect progenitors for the lies they’ve learned and those they will create to foster their own liberal agendas. Conservatism, like the middle class, is a thing of the past.
